Weardale History

A number of art works have been produced by Rachel Clarke, digital artist, animator, photographer and performer, Steve Dales, sound and video artist and Emma Boor, puppeteer, maker and performer. Jan Curtis, illustrator and designer, has also been producing mixed media work about migration and writer Chris Powell has joined the team working with young people collecting and working on migration stories. All work includes archive material and research into migrating families from Weardale. The work produced so far has included a show at Killhope Museum for families as part of the Northern Rocks Festival and for schools. Short films were shown at Harehope Quarry, Frosterley on November 8th as part of a Fire & Bangs celebration. Sound installation and images are on show at Killhope Museum as part of the Routes & Riches exhibition from 1st April - 1st November 2009.
