Weardale History

Semi Precious: Weardale’s Industrial Migration Stories is an eighteen month Heritage Lottery Funded project celebrating industrial migration in Weardale. During 2008 – 2009 Semi Precious will enlist volunteers to research and interpret the changing dynamic of the people in the dale in the C18th and C19th linked to the main industries of mining and quarrying. Artists will collect stories and interpret them for family events at Killhope Museum and Harehope Quarry Project, Frosterley. Local primary schools will also be involved in making art work about these stories and contribute to a short film and exhibition in 2009.
